Overview
Expired Skill Dynamics certificates can be renewed when the renewal conditions are met. To be eligible for renewal, learners must complete a minimum of 5 hours of courses. The standard renewal approach is for learners to complete additional catalogue courses. In some cases, a continuous learning plan may also be used depending on the customer process.

• Learners whose Skill Dynamics certificate has expired or is due for renewal.
• Managers and Academy Coordinators supporting learners with certificate renewal.
Before you start
• A certificate can only be renewed if the customer has renewed the relevant licenses.
• The learner must complete a minimum of 5 hours of eligible courses to renew the certificate.
• The learner must have an active account. If the learner is inactive, reactivation must be discussed with the Academy Coordinator.
• If a learner has left the company, the certificate cannot currently be renewed through an individual license.
How certificate renewal works
Catalogue course option
The standard approach is for learners to complete additional courses from the catalogue. A minimum of 5 hours of courses must be completed for the certificate to be renewed. Courses completed after the certificate issue date can count towards renewal, and learners have a 12-month window after the certificate expiration date to renew it.
The selected courses do not need to be linked to the learner’s current role. Any catalogue course can be used for renewal, depending on the customer process.
Continuous learning plan option
A continuous learning plan may also be created depending on the customer setup. This approach should be discussed with the Academy Coordinator. The delivery method may vary, for example by invitation or self-registration.
How the renewed certificate is issued
When the certificate is renewed, the same certificate type is generated again. The expiry date is updated, the additional CEH is added to the previous CEH, and any additional competencies completed can be included on the certificate.

Frequently asked questions
Can a renewed certificate be used for CILT hours?
Yes. A renewed certificate can be used to claim CILT hours where the relevant requirements are met.
Can a learner get two certificates with two expiry dates in a year?
Yes. This is possible if the customer already has a continuous learning plan approach. The renewal process will only apply to the latest certificate issued.
Can a learner renew a certificate if the company did not renew the licenses?
No. A certificate can only be renewed if the company has renewed the relevant licenses.
Can a certificate be renewed for an inactive learner?
No. A learner must have an active account to renew their certificate. If the learner is inactive, the reactivation process should be followed, and a request should be sent to the Academy Coordinator.
If a learner leaves the company, can the certificate be renewed?
No. Skill Dynamics does not currently provide individual licenses, so the certificate cannot be renewed once the learner has left the company.
